On International Women’s Day, 2017, Southern Highlands Branch held a luncheon at The Briars restaurant at Moss Vale, to celebrate the progress achieved in furthering women’s status in the world, through the promotion of their education at all levels.
Funds were raised at the luncheon through the generous donations of those attending. Our guest speaker at the luncheon was Liz Posmyk, who shared her parents’ Hungarian background with us, and their migration to Australia after the Hungarian Uprising in 1956. Liz is a well known local producer of organic food and teacher of fine cuisine, and her book includes delicious Hungarian recipes.
Liz also stressed the importance of writing family histories, for future generations.
